Against them last year (terrible 8 point fourth quarter and devin harris heave still in my head). This time no harris – must win

by Tanner Steidel on Nov 6, 2009 9:36 AM PST via mobile reply actions

It’s the 5th game of the season, there is no such thing as a must win – but they SHOULDN"T lose – especially if harris is not playing, unless courtney lee finds that playoff stroke that new jersey thinks is real

if the sixers beat the teams they’re supposed to they’ll be fine, and this is one of those teams. 0-5, no harris, no Yi, in Philly. i look for a 15 point win.

by Jordan Sams on Nov 6, 2009 10:15 AM PST up reply actions

Well first you have to define who are the teams they’re supposed to beat – and my guess is if they only beat teams they’re supposed to they’ll be a sub 500 teamt this year.

Are they ‘supposed’ to beat the heat? the bulls? The hawks?

nets, knicks, pistons, pacers, bucks, bobcats, rockets, grizzlies, t’wolves, warriors, kings are the for sures.

and the teams they have to at least split with are (win in Philadelphia): raptors, bulls, hawks, heat, wizards, hornets, thunder, clippers.

by Jordan Sams on Nov 6, 2009 11:16 AM PST up reply actions

Um…you wanna take another look at how the rockets are playing this year? I’d take them off the list for sure.

So that’s 10 teams that the sixers play anywhere from 2-4 times -

Chris Douglas-Roberts is not traveling with the Nets to Philadelphia for Friday’s game against the 76ers as he struggles with flu-like symptoms.

and the first sammy screw up doesn’t take long to occur

by Tanner Steidel on Nov 6, 2009 4:12 PM PST reply actions

kind of sort of – but not really – it’s hard to explain

Mike Arbuckle (who left to go to KC) did the drafting – ed wade just made a series of bad moves and trades for fat middle relievers and david bell

Don't frack with me or you'll get a punch in the kidneys...you've been warned

by jemagee on Nov 6, 2009 4:16 PM PST up reply actions

yeah, ed doesn’t draft in houston either. he did trade like 30 prospects for tejada though, which was stupid. and i’m pretty sure he signed carlos less, which was even more stupid.

by Jordan Sams on Nov 6, 2009 4:20 PM PST up reply actions

so you see – he’s repeating patterns

in houston it’s compunded by you having worse ownership than the phils

Don't frack with me or you'll get a punch in the kidneys...you've been warned

by jemagee on Nov 6, 2009 4:20 PM PST up reply actions

just checked and carlos lee was signed by pupura. the tejada trade is my only problem so far. this off-season is gonna be big.

by Jordan Sams on Nov 6, 2009 4:24 PM PST up reply actions

Actually – the fact that they have those ‘strong second halves’ that delude your gm and owner into thinking they are contenders is a problem as well

Don't frack with me or you'll get a punch in the kidneys...you've been warned

by jemagee on Nov 6, 2009 4:28 PM PST up reply actions

well drayton mcclane is the major problem.

by Jordan Sams on Nov 6, 2009 4:29 PM PST up reply actions

You know i just noticed

All 3 teams you root for have HORRIBLE ownership (for different reasons)

Don't frack with me or you'll get a punch in the kidneys...you've been warned

i agree on 2, but i’ll take jerry jones over 25 other owners in the nfl.

by Jordan Sams on Nov 6, 2009 4:31 PM PST up reply actions

Spending a lot of money
and spending a lot of money SMARTLY are two entirely different things.

Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder are both the same kind of bad owner – just because you spend a lot of money DOESNT mean you’ll win – and both know nothing but htink they don’t – owner as GM is the stupidest thing in the world.

The cowboys will never win again until jerry gets out of the way – it’s not as bad as oakland but the same problem
