Who's a bigger traitor?

So, the yankees just won the world series (they were the better team and it played out exactly how I expected it to, so I guess, meh, for predictive skills) over the Phillies and the Eagles and Cowboys square off Sunday Night (woo hoo FINALLY get to see an eagles game this season), so a question occurs to you...and most of you will know where it comes from.

There's a poll so we can quantify this precisely of course, but which is worse:

A sixerrs fan who is a cowboys and astros fan

OR

A sixers fan who is an eagles fan as well but a yankees fan.

This is purely for entertainments sake and to bust balls cause the phillies lost and the sixers are terrible.

Well I think this answer is obvious

The Yanks aren’t even a rival of the Phils, in fact, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. I hate the Mets, Phils fans hate the Mets, ergo, we’re friends. The Cowboys, though? I mean, come on.

Check this out, btw: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnj6_WsRFNU&feature=player_embedded

Dude – check out the map though – 49 states rooting for the phillies – 1 for the yankees

EVERYONE hates the yankees (or the stankees as my red sox loving gf calls them)

Look at it this way

I’ve rooted against the Phils once in my lifetime, the past two weeks, that’s it. The other guy roots against the Birds every single week.

Send GT Green packing.

I am picking choice A because in addition to rooting for the Cowboys (who I despise on a quite visceral level more than just about any other single franchise and fanbase in sports) this person also roots for the Astros (who have given the Phillies more fits over the last 5 years than just about any other team) — and also, screw Houston…what a miserable city.

The Yankees fan (as much as I dislike Yankees fans) also roots for the Eagles, which is cool in my book.

So I’m picking A.

I sort of figured that’s how it would play out – but just having some fun

Have you ever been to Houston?? Im seriously considering going there for work after I graduate.

The obvious is A because B includes the Eagles and no true rival. I hate the Red Sox more than the Yankees so they arent bad in my book, and I have no problem with them paying $200 mil a year to field championship caliber teams. Its not against the rules. Over the decades they built success upon success to earn revenue which in turn led to more success, which led to more $ to pay more elite players. Along with all the taxes they have to pay and revenue sharing its all good. Id just rather beat them in the WS.

It was a good poll though John. One of my best friends is in category B and I know a lot of others in Philly too. Jordan is the only one I know of in A though.

Gotta ask

Why would anyone hate the red sox MORE than the yankees?

I mostly just hated hearing about the curse constantly and all that and then everyone hopped on the bandwagon when they came back against the Yankees down 0-3. My hatred grew also when the Red Sox and Patriots and Celtics were just stringing championships together like it was nothing.

I respect how the Yankees are run. Yes its arrogant and maybe “unfair” but like I said its their right.

The red sox are a better run organization – top to bottom – than the yankees

heh

The only thing the Red Sox do better than the Yanks is discriminate.

Yes, the red sox were the last team to integrate….there are those who believe no yankee titles beforet the game was fully integrated should count.

The yankees and red sox both have unlimited money – the red sox have a better front office, less meddling owners, and a better approach to developing prospects and not over paying players.

I believe that no championships, period, should count before the game was integrated. I think for all intents and purposes, only accomplishments that happened after 1947 (at the very earliest) should be considered when talking about “all-timers”.

I gotta go with the Cowboys fan. I mean, the Cowboys and Eagles are in the same division.

+ I’m pretty sure the Astros owned the Phillies down the stretch a couple years ago to keep them out of the playoffs.

To top it off, the Cowboys/Astros fan was rooting for the Yankees in the World Series. Ouch :)

Cowboys astros fan is obviously a giant tool

In Philly, being a Cowboys fan is always going to be the worst offense. At least the Yankees are in the AL and are in NYC, which is close to Philly.

by doubleh on Nov 5, 2009 4:09 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

Yes – but the knicks and mets are close to phillie – as are the giants

I just don`t see how anyone could root for the yankees. I don`t respect the AL…but my opinion is obviously biased.

Only Philadelphia area fans should vote

As it is obvious, Cowboys hands down. No question about it. If you limited the poll to just Delaware Valley fans, it would 90% Dallas Cowboys or may I say, Cowgirls!

Go Eagles!

by DeanH on Nov 5, 2009 10:39 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

if one lives in philly, it really makes no sense of how if someone likes the phillies in baseball yet likes the cowboys in football… should be all for or against philly. The only exception is if say one lives in philly and their kid ends up playing football for dallas. I know it is very unlikely, but that is one way that makes sense to be a fan of the phillies and cowboys. or an eagles fan along with yankees fan.

A. Why doesn’t it.
B. Do you know what the word entertainment means?

For folks that read this blog (and perhaps one other) they know the source of the poll, for people who just wanna be asses – well they can go
