Worst Current Contract

So, it's the holidays, the sixers stink and it's a time of giving and the sixers lost to the wizards today, a team with a lot of bad long term deals and it got me to thinking about who might have the 'worst' long term deal in the NBA right now.  Guys like Dalemberrt, Curry, even McGrady are coming to the end of their terms atop the bad contract heap.

Now I know sixer fans first jump will be elton brand (and some may even say Iguodala) and yes willie green is a douche but he's not paid a lot of money.

My first instinct is to say that without examing contracts too deeply - Gilbert Arenas has one of the worst contracts in the NBA right now?  Other contesntats could be Ben Gordon, Charlie V, Hedo, maybe even Jamsion?

That’s easy, Arenas w/o question. For all the people who “believe” Iguodala is making franchise money when Franchise money = Max Money, I say right school, wrong player.

Gil is making superstar cash yet his squad is no better than the “star”-less Sixers who also have a younger roster and a worse coach. He plays no defense, ever, makes bad decisions and is so injury prone he makes Elton Brand seem like Mount Everest.

Iguodala is Pippen 2.0, and paid like it.

random

i’m pretty sure that cuttino mobley is being paid to not play alas stephan marbury this year by the knicks but other then that i would have to agree arenas is playing way below his contract anyone averaging below 40% shooting and leading the league in turnovers should not be making anywhere near max money, another poorly awarded contract in my opinion would be shawn marion not sure his actual contract but i know he is making over 15 mil based on his stats playing for the suns while he now is averaging barely over half that

I was thinking more in terms of over paid and long term – hence LBJ (or wade or bgosh or carmelo) don’t have bad contracts.

Mobley has a heart condition that prevents him from playing (odd though that he didn’t have it until the moment he was traded to new york huh?)

I should have been more clear i met in the term of grossly over paid player screwing a franchise for years to come…

Pistons screwed themselves. All of that cap and they decided to grossly overpay Gordon and Villanueva…
