Bobcats @ Sixers game thread 11/18/09
Charlotte Bobcats at Philadelphia 76ers, Nov 18, 2009 4:00 PM PST
Will Elton be in the starting lineup?
Is this Sammy D's last game in a Sixers uniform?
Is this the Sixers final game without Monta Ellis?
Will the Sixers have enough to beat a bad Bobcats team?
Go Sixers.

I just couldn't make sense of him coming of the bench
I guess I understand EJs “match up” situations. Then agian…I don’t understand them, but I see what he’s tryna do!
I know Brand hasn’t done spectacular things on the court. But havin’ him sit on the bench when we have Speights out for at least 6 weeks……I mean….C’mon! It’s only my opinion though!!!!

It’s only fitting that the gift package includes a Holiday practice jersey, since that’s the only place he plays.

You could...

Check this out:
Lou plays 10 minutes, team gives up 22 points.
Green plays 2 minutes, team give up 0 points.
Keep an eye on this because the defense looks infinitely better without Lou on the floor.
u mean u don’t like the all-star backcourt of royal and bill?
by Tanner Steidel on Nov 18, 2009 4:45 PM PST up reply actions
wow i though ivey was supposed to be a “defensive stopper” – just lost sight of his man allowing to him to cut straight to the hoop
well... atleast we aren't the Nets?
A buddy of mine just mentioned them and I felt a little better about the Sixers.

FINALLY here
my first chance to watch the sixers all season!

they’ve been decent – last year was the first time in 3 or 4 years they didn’t make the tournament
by Tanner Steidel on Nov 18, 2009 5:39 PM PST up reply actions
Wisconsin is decent, wisconsin sometimes gets as high as a two seed – but no one expects to seem then in the final 8 :)

Bobcats?
"They say that nobody is perfect. Then they tell you practice makes perfect. I wish they'd make up their minds." - Wilt Chamberlain
the bobcats are actually a good defensive team
their offense just negates that.

Do the bobcats have a power forward who is 6’8?

Nah it’s ok – I’m not interested in watching them this year – or i would buy the league pass – only reason i had it longer than most is that when cox ‘refunded’ my money they don’t update boxes right away – i kknew it was going off at some pont – thanks for the offer though

Can someone tell me which of these point guards is bad for Holidays psyche and how playing Royal ivery IN FRONT OF JRUE isn’t bad for his psyche?
by jemagee on Nov 18, 2009 5:40 PM PST reply actions
you obviously have not been studying eddie jordan 101
remember that a rookie having game experience in general is unhealthy for them. on the other playing players that should not even be in the nba is something that will benefit the organization and the world.
by el on Nov 18, 2009 5:43 PM PST up reply actions
haha
Looking at EJs habbits…that sounds exactly right!
And it’s very sad to the point of ridiculous
"... You play to win the game. Hello? You play to win the game. You don't play it to just play it. That's the great thing about sports: you play to win..."
I don't believe Jordan gives a crap about Jrues psyche!
I mean…playing Ivery (who’s a scrap) instead of letting Jrue (the Future) gain some on court knowledge tells alot about a Coach!
"... You play to win the game. Hello? You play to win the game. You don't play it to just play it. That's the great thing about sports: you play to win..."
Jordan cares about EVERYONES psyche, didn’t see the pre game quotes, pulling brand from the starting line up is a ‘sensitive matter’ – Jordan is an utter MORON

I had braces twice – you got a problem with braces?
by jemagee on Nov 18, 2009 5:52 PM PST up reply actions
i had em once, and have to get em again. i just dont trust coaches with braces,
why’d u get em the second time?
Because my teeth were growing in god awful crooked – so the first time was to make them grow in straight – second timne to close spaces when they finally came in
by jemagee on Nov 18, 2009 5:55 PM PST up reply actions
Unfortunately I too have gone through the rigors of braces. I actually had a tooth that grew in literally on the roof of my mouth. And after an unfortunate football accident as a child, my bottom teeth also had to get fixed.

"Sensitive Matter"
Sounds more like Jordans psyche!!
"... You play to win the game. Hello? You play to win the game. You don't play it to just play it. That's the great thing about sports: you play to win..."
Dad, I want to talk to you about a very sensitive matter…seriously – you say something that reminds me of a will smith song – that’s on YOU

I think they call that "Projection"
in the psychology field.

I’m confused, elton brand has 32:30 through 3 quarters – he’s on a 40 minutes pace – but as i understand it he can’t play 40 minutes?

has he already played more fourth quarter minutes in this game than all season combined?… o eddie

The bobcats are one of those teams in the NBA i wouldn’t swap the sixers roster for
by jemagee on Nov 18, 2009 5:58 PM PST reply actions
A few years back they boasted a pretty good college roster. Felton, Okafor, Morrison, May…

Something along the lines of JASON SMITH SUCKS DEFENSIVELY is my guess
by jemagee on Nov 18, 2009 6:09 PM PST up reply actions
Brown had Smith one-on-one in the lane, and made a small move that COMPLETELY beat him
and smtih gave the foul – had no other choice. brown missed both of the fts, though.
Elton brand has 19 points and 10 rebounds and 3 fouls – if he sits the rest of the game – SOMEON punch eddie jordan in the kidneys
by jemagee on Nov 18, 2009 6:09 PM PST reply actions
sitting? watching the game?

Where we love to suck in the 4th quarter and crunch time.

he made one… that’s unusual he normally misses both
by Tanner Steidel on Nov 18, 2009 6:28 PM PST up reply actions
i found this game at least somewhat satisfying for two fold reasons
1. 19 pts, 11 boards, 6 blocks, 4 steals, 2 assists, 1 turnover
2. we actually played a somewhat inspired game with a little bit of enthusiasm
there are of course the negatives like Jrue (or lack thereof) and thad (just horrendous tonight).
But out of all the so called “empty losses,” this one was definitely the nicest (if that makes sense).
