Jazz @ Sixers game thread 11/13/09

Utah Jazz at Philadelphia 76ers, Nov 13, 2009 4:00 PM PST

No Deron Williams.

In Philadelphia.

Will the Sixers get it together?

Enough to where we have another unsatisfying win?

Go team.

Donyel Marshall’s voice is sort of irritating. Anyone else get pregame on CSN? I don’t know how I feel about pregame for every single Philly team now…

I'd rather have an unsatisfying win than no win at all

Very few losses (outside of close playoff/road losses) are satisfying.

by chillicothe20 on Nov 13, 2009 3:34 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

Even without Deron Williiams this is a better team than the healthy sixers.

And Thad is playing hurt

by jemagee on Nov 13, 2009 3:55 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

Dei said he had three massages today alone and even had the guy come to his house last night. Doesn’t sound good to me.

by doubleh on Nov 13, 2009 4:05 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

I like Donyel in there he seems to have good insight. The Jazz have been having trouble anyway and Derron is a big part of their attack so the Sixers should win. Brand will get a chance to play since Boozer is their other offensive threat.

A win is a win, but I don’t think the Sixers win this one without playing well. The Jazz are a disciplined team, and don’t cough up the ball normally. It would be great for the Sixers if they could get their defense going.

by RickoT on Nov 13, 2009 3:56 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

Why should the sixers win? This team barely beat the nets who only had 8 players, some of them not legitimate NBA starters…

by jemagee on Nov 13, 2009 4:03 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

that same nets team gave the celtics trouble.

by jsams on Nov 13, 2009 4:05 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

But the sixers didn’t give the celtics trouble :)

by jemagee on Nov 13, 2009 4:13 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

different sport, but the cowboys barely beat the chiefs and that doesn’t mean anything except the cowboys barely beat the chiefs. it shouldn’t be used to compare two different teams in my opinion.

by jsams on Nov 13, 2009 4:17 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Dude, you can’t ignore the transitive properties of the world.

The raiders beat the eagles
the eagles beat the giants
ERGO the raiders are better than the giants.

The logic si FLAWLESS

by jemagee on Nov 13, 2009 4:20 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

as my friend put it, "Dallas beat tampa by 13, tampa beat gb by 10, therefore dallas should beat gb this week by 130 (13 times 10).

by jsams on Nov 13, 2009 4:24 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Your friend doesn’t understand the transitive property – the correct answer is 23

by jemagee on Nov 13, 2009 4:36 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Why should the Jazz win? They were 3-4 WITH Derron, who was their best player.

by RickoT on Nov 13, 2009 4:05 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

The sixers are 4-4 with everyone healthy…

by jemagee on Nov 13, 2009 4:13 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Made a mistake. The Jazz are 3-5. Figure the Sixers to win and maybe get a group of players going. They are much quicker than the Jazz.

Is anyone upset Andre Iguodala isn’t getting to the line as much? Or are we secretly happy because he’s a 60% free throw shooter now?

by jsams on Nov 13, 2009 4:27 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

I’m upset cause it means he’s not recognized as an ‘important’ player yet in the NBA – the starts get crappy fouls all the time – and you need those to win

by jemagee on Nov 13, 2009 4:31 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Well, he’s not driving as much as far as I can see, so it has nothing to do with calls or no calls yet.

great lineup to end the quarter with ej!

speights, smith, carney, green, and ivey.

well at least holiday is having some good pt in this game, (o wait, discard that last point)

by el on Nov 13, 2009 5:46 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

Two players have not entered for the sixers yet: Brezec and Holiday. Hopefully jordan lets holiday play in the fourth, he cant do much damage when we are already down 92-69.

Is it wrong of me to already be losing patience with Eddie Jordan? I realize this team is not a juggernaut, but I have no idea what he’s thinking with his rotations.

by doubleh on Nov 13, 2009 5:52 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

Not only is the Princeton Offense non-existent, but he’s ruined a pretty solid defensive team and his rotations are effing BS.

Question is...

is Jordan actually “thinking” when he runs through his “rotations”!

In this situation, there’s no reason to not play Holiday. I don’t think Eddie put a bad group out there, I think they didn’t play well, particularly on offense.

Hmm…crappy rebounding, crappy 3 point defense, and the other team shot much better than the sixers.

So glad we fired Mo
