The athletic tag team of Speights and Thaddeus Young can't help but improve, even if Young took a step back last season.

Overall, a pretty accurate preview from a mainstream website. However; the statement above raised my eyebrows a little bit. How did Thaddeus Young take a step back last season?

Maybe he was referring to the injury?

Or maybe the lack of rebound production since he became a starter….I don`t know, but “ball don`t lie” pisses me off sometimes.

Well, there are a couple reasons I could come up with to explain it:

1. We all remember Thad for the month or so before he got hurt where he effortlessly put up 20+ a night. He actually started off pretty slowly.

2. His rookie year, he was incredibly efficient because the offense rarely went through him. Once he became more (but still not much) of a focus, and got more touches, his efficiency obviously decreased.

I think a lot of people expected Thad to blow up last year, and if you look at his overall stats, that didn’t really happen. As noted above, he looked great before he got hurt, but it was too late for his season numbers by then. Hopefully that’s the version we get this year, though.

Geez even BDL hating on Willie as just a 10th man. Im more excited for this season than I thought Id be (mostly with the Flyers trying to steal my main attention this winter) but Im getting tired of that

False. Dwyer thrives off inaccuracies.

I think peoples expectations of Thaddeus Young were too high last season…it was still just his second year in the league – he was only 20 years old – and his first season numbers were good but part of that is going to be the league being ‘unprepared’ for him.

I’m not shocked if he took a ‘step back’ in year 2 -it was to be expected due to a variety of things.

Now, in year 3 – how will HE adjust to the league adjusting to him.

I was a bit surprised he went on that 20 ppg run last year.

i think he is still a couple of years away from being a complete player- but he has a decent shot at being a great player.

I think he has a decent shot at being a great player as well – but i don’t expect him to do it this year – just looking for progress

Tom McGinnis is doing the play by play. He’s the best, so it should be fun.
