Hopefully the first game “mistakes” are all out of the system for the Sixers and they come to play tonight. Would love to see better games out of the entire starting lineup, none of them impressed.

I really don’t have the patience to go thru the process of packing…but my gf has a hard time of parting with meaningless objects and I could never get rid of my book collection (although it would make for terrific kindling)

Ok – book collections I can understand – I mean i wouldn’t burn my first edition autographed “Spook COuntry” (that someone on another board got me and mailed me from Ireland), but books can be replaced, think of all the money saved on moving not taking anything – just two plane tickets – clothes and books can be replaced easily.

I think one of the keys is to start packing, like now, get a storage unit and pack up the crap you want but will never use :)

Our league is confusing me – there’s WAY too many roster spots each night – I don’t like this set up – there’s no thought involved – just roster churning (which i hate) to make sure ll spots are filled as much as possible.

agree with the limit to only 4 moves a week. it is not confusing magee.

by sixer83 on Oct 30, 2009 6:19 PM PDT up reply actions

It’s pointless – there’s no THOUGHT involved – there’s room for pretty much EVERY player on your roster – i’m in a keeper league with only six spots (standard positions and one ‘sixth man’) but a roster of 12 or so players…tht requires some skill – some thought – this is just a matter of throwing everyone in.

Also, guard or forward, again – no thought, break down the actual positions, make it harder, require some work…

I didn’t say it was CONFUSING you bumblenuts – I said it was too easy – there’s not as much strategy than in a league that only allows 6 roster spaces a night.

He really looks no different than when he was in college to me. He never had mad hops or anything, he would mostly rely on brute strength. I reference college b/c I saw tons of his games but only a few here and there when he was in LA.

for some reason Ed expected Brand to be the post presence that we desperately needed heading into last season

from what I can tell, that’s never really been his game. He’s a high post jump shooter who knows how to put himself in good position for rebounds and blocks

I couldn’t say for sure, he might have been just trying to make a splash in his first off-season by acquiring the biggest fish in the pond…I still think the jury is out as far as how successful Brand can be for this team, but at the time of the signing I thought Ed should have kept the $ for this upcoming offseason instead of taking a Webber like gamble.

went to the game tonight

arena probably 5/8 full which i have come to expect so nothing major there – got my tickets from stub hub from a season ticket holder so i got a letter addressed to him from “jrue” (or as i like to say the public relations guy who put it was from jrue holiday on it) – honestly the loudest the crowd got was when the sixers had 98 points and if they got two more everyone in the stands would get a free big mac from mcdonalds (they cost about 1.85 ppl i wouldn’t get too excited about a free one)

most obvious things i noticed was that game was extremely sloppy and willie green really should never ever see the floor before jrue – the fact that willie thinks it’s a good idea to go balls out defense on his man 85 feet from the basket is beyond me

brand looked good, well at least his numbers – the bucks really don’t have anyone to man up with him so it’s tough to make a decision with this game – and despite having a double-double, sam is still very dumb (whenever he went to take a set shot from the elbow the entire crowd near me went “noooooo!!!” as he prepared to shoot)
