Power Rankings: Still suck
Marc Stein! 26th?! How could you?! We haven't been very good, but are the Grizzles and Bobcats really better than us?
NBA.com-22
Since Elton Brand went down with a dislocated shoulder, Andre Iguodala is averaging 22.3 points on 51 percent shooting. That's probably not a coincidence, and neither is the Sixers' 1-6 record in that time.

Marc Stein, ESPN-26
It's still too soon to tell you where the Sixers are with their new coach after an undeniably favorable start schedule-wise to DiLeo's interim tenure, followed by the 1-5 misery of an unforgiving six-game road trip.

They are a bottom 5 -7 team – but when brand comes back they’ll probably be just good enough to avoid the top 10 of the lottery

Not That Far Off
You are probably right, the Sixers are little underrated in Stein’s ratings. But honestly, I am not buying on this team even when Brand comes back from injury. They have too many glaring weaknesses to overcome. More than likely, I see them as a team that hovers around the number 20 spot in the ranking for the majority of the season. Best-case scenario, they might be able to figure some things out and make a run at the 8th seed in the playoffs. But again, there are just too many holes on this team as presently constructed to accomplish much of anything.

I agree that they aren't very good right now, but
If Stefanski somehow adds a shooter by trading Dalembert, which is a big IF and when Brand comes back I think they can certainly be a playoff team in the East.

Would love to see Sammy D Gone
I am with you, I would love to see Stefanski pull a rabbit out of a hat by trading Dalembert to add a shooter. Problem is: Dalembert has little value on the trade market right now because he has two years and a whopping $26 mill. left on his contract.
The more likely trade chip for the Sixers would be Andre Miller as his contract expires this year. Either way, adding at least one players that can stretch a defense is imperative.

Dalembert ALSO has a trade kicker don’t forget – i’ve seen reports of 7.5 to 15%…Billy King, the gift that keeps on kicking you in the junk

I'm torn on Andre Miller.
I’ve gone back and fourth about 500 times since he’s gotten here. He’s on the wrong side of thirty and has an expiring deal. The logical thing to do would be to trade him now. But I love the way he’s been playing lately and if Eddy can somehow trade Sammy instead of Andre for a shooter this team would be money for the stretch run assuming we have a healthy Brand and the Iggy that’s been playing lately.
That being said. I don’t want to see Andre finish out his contract and us not get anything for him, but I also don’t want to see him get an extension because of his age. I guess if I had to choose one, I’d go with trading him, but see, I’ve already flip-flopped about 6 times during this post alone.

You trade him – the smart thing to do would have been to trade him as soon as you couldn’t negotiate an extension (which would have been a mistake anyway) cause keeping him is short sighted thinking – it’s a one year thought – and if they though tthe sixers were going to contend for a title this year – they were nuts – so they should have traded miller when his value was highest – a team could have him for an entire season and then still use his expiring deal if they wished at the deadline – but now – every day -miller has slightly less value (in my opinion) in terms of on court (expiring value stays constant) so you get less back from him – and if you don’t trade him – and he walks – you’ve got nothing to go after a quality point guard

I think his trade value is pretty good now.
He’s been playing lights out.
