louwill is gonna go for 30.

i’ve got a feeling.

When they should be sacrifice bunting, they are buying effeminate designer jeans. When they should be fouling off pitches, they are masturbating. Always, they are masturbating.

Ok – but you might want to have a doctor look at that ‘feeling’ before it fully erupts

Louisville playing tonight?

by jemagee on Jan 14, 2009 4:22 PM PST up reply actions

I hear Boldin can box out and grab the boards well

But Warner’s 3 is just flat. I don’t think they would have a chance.

I like whatever metric makes a Blazer look better.

by einman77 on Jan 14, 2009 7:50 PM PST up reply actions

There’s Iguodala not being very good int he first quarter 9 points 2 steals 2 assists already

god he’s just not even the 3rd best player on this team

by jemagee on Jan 14, 2009 4:26 PM PST reply actions

how many people do you have above him and who are they?

and reggie evans is not a good rebounder

Hey, Blazer fan here...

Yikes, Roy’s hamstring must be pretty bad… he doesn’t have the burst.

I thought you guys couldn’t hit threes?

by Cablinasian on Jan 14, 2009 4:38 PM PST reply actions

season average’s something like 30, last 3 games it’s above 50 so who knows…

by phils11 on Jan 14, 2009 4:40 PM PST up reply actions

can’t

by jemagee on Jan 14, 2009 4:40 PM PST up reply actions

our zone defense is horrible...

I think Shaq could drain threes against our zone… blech.

by Cablinasian on Jan 14, 2009 4:43 PM PST up reply actions

any zone looks bad when the opposing team can hit the three(which we usually can’t).

by Ben16 on Jan 14, 2009 5:05 PM PST up reply actions

At times

Greg Oden ends up at the top of the zone… we get out of place a lot.

by Cablinasian on Jan 14, 2009 5:08 PM PST up reply actions

Why is it so quiet ?

I cant even hear the crowd over the tv.

Philadelphia isn’t the ‘nba team’ that it’s made out to be – plus super bowl fever -

by jemagee on Jan 14, 2009 4:46 PM PST up reply actions

As jemagee points out, with the Eagles doing well in the Playoffs the city is not paying attention to the sixers. The fans start paying more attention once the Eagles are done. The beginning of the season was overshadowed by the Phillies and the World Series. Around the end of February, if the team is playing well, you will see the stands start to fill.

by Ben16 on Jan 14, 2009 5:15 PM PST up reply actions

on espn2 g'town vs. cuse

at the wizards arena it is absolutely packed… i just wish the sixers could do this but i guess ppl are too pumped about the eagles right now

by Tanner Steidel on Jan 14, 2009 5:09 PM PST up reply actions

Salmi just said

that if oden can play like dalembert does for the sixers he will be a successful player….. i don’t think i would consider anyone successful if they play like sam

by Tanner Steidel on Jan 14, 2009 4:49 PM PST reply actions

He's been a great post up threat recently

put some nice games together against Boston, Golden State, Chicago…

I don’t watch the sixers much… is Dalembert an offensive threat?

by Cablinasian on Jan 14, 2009 4:51 PM PST up reply actions

not at all….. i think oden will be a stud that’s why i was stunned when salmi said that

by Tanner Steidel on Jan 14, 2009 4:52 PM PST up reply actions

I am assuming he was refering to rebounds and blocks

Greg needs to focus on rebounds and blocks in his first year. His offense will take longer to develop.

I think salmi was just saying that if Oden can anchor the team on the defensive end like dalembert he can be successful. He was probably assuming people would understand that Oden would be and should be better than Dalembert on the offensive end of the game.

I think the big problem is that from all of sam’s public comments – he thinks he’s a starter -0 and he’s a really fragile selfish ego – any productivity you get from him will be out the window if you bench him – and he’ll start whining more.

It’s more important who finishes then who starts

by Sabonis4Ever on Jan 14, 2009 5:55 PM PST up reply actions

I watch quite a few blazer games – i like em quite a bit – but they’re the ‘sexy’ team this year and getting too much hype for a team full of guys who haven’t even made the playoffs yet – and you got some fragile players physically (Roy/Oden) and Lamarcus has some emotoinoal issues he’s going to need to get over for this team to ascend.

It’s a great bunch of young pieces – and a pretty good coach – and i’d happily trade rosters – but the anointeing of the blazers so far this seasons has been nauseating.

Plus – there’s WAY too many blazer fans in this game thread

by jemagee on Jan 14, 2009 5:59 PM PST up reply actions

I would contend that the best cheesesteaks come from the food carts that can be found on Philadelphia street corners. The quality of their grease truly seals the deal. Moreover, they don’t use cheese whiz and they actually shred the meat.

Geno’s and Pat’s are both overrated tourist traps but if I had to choose, I would opt for Pat’s merely because I refuse to patronize a businesses owned by racists like Joe Vento.

Oh my god we agree about the cheeswhiz :)

What I love about cheese steaks outside of philadelphia is that people use actual steak – cheese steak meat is the cheapest meat around – i think it’s called chipped steak – used to buy it at the ardmores farmers market and make cheese steaks at home – mine were good

one of the two worst.

I miss Martell Webster… and Rudy… and now Blake is hurt.

Crap.

Roy didn’t look too healthy

Only problem is that lamarcus is on my fantasy team and sucked tonight :(

by jemagee on Jan 14, 2009 6:25 PM PST up reply actions

No...

his hamstring is really affecting him right now. He’s not as quick as he usually is.

by Cablinasian on Jan 14, 2009 6:26 PM PST up reply actions

oh yeah.

Roy has a torn pinky tendon and a strained hamstring… Aldridge has a perforated ear drum… Przybilla has a broken wrist… Bayless has a broken shot.

Gah.

by Cablinasian on Jan 14, 2009 6:25 PM PST up reply actions

Its the largest point deficit

I think the opening game of the season was worse because of the Oden injury and I hate losing to the Lakers. But this was the most points we have lost by.

Andre Miller and Sam Dlaember awesome Portland audition tonight :)

Now I just need the sixers to play a ‘complete’ game where there’s nothing to point to to say ‘yeah let’s work on this now’

by jemagee on Jan 14, 2009 6:31 PM PST reply actions

Strong Win – i think this might be a better win than the hawks game actually…but i’m not sure

by jemagee on Jan 14, 2009 6:37 PM PST reply actions

i agree it's tough to decide which is better

in atlanta they got a great ROAD win where they finally put the game away in the fourth and tonight got out to a big lead and never lost it against a very good west team…. I approve of both wins haha

by Tanner Steidel on Jan 14, 2009 6:39 PM PST up reply actions

The blazers I think are better than the hawks – plus the hawks kind of gave up in the middle of the 3rd to me it seemed – plus the sixers fought off a serious run from a serious team…plus the rebounding problem tonight wasn’t ‘as bad’ as the turnover issue in the hawks game – i think this was a more complete game

by jemagee on Jan 14, 2009 6:42 PM PST up reply actions

i like the way they didn’t give up the lead despite the threat…. shows maturity from guys like speights and lou which is something to look forward to throughout the year

Half the posts here are from blazers fans :)

Thats not that much for a half

Lots of fickle fans didn’t even watch the second half.

That’s just nuts – i guess that rumor about how Portland WANTS to love the blazers really is true…when i was about to give up the sixers the blazers were probably my team of choice

by jemagee on Jan 14, 2009 6:57 PM PST up reply actions

I had to make a choice between Blazer season tickets and car insurance

I take the train to the Rose Garden.

Now the only thing to worry about is what happens when Brand gets back – cause you are introducing a new variable to a team that’s been playing pretty well under their new coach – things are going to change – they have to – minutes are going to change – what people are asked to do is going to change – it can be good it can be bad – but it’s an unknown right now – and it’s a concern

plus i’m naturally a worrier :)

I think he had a class

but dude it’s college – i thought attendance was optional – was when i went – and i went to a real college – i mean he’s in nevada -0 do they have real colleges there :)

by jemagee on Jan 14, 2009 6:55 PM PST up reply actions

haha yea my classes start tomorrow. It sucks that some profs say attendance is mandatory but in the long run its probably good to go.

by Ben16 on Jan 14, 2009 6:57 PM PST up reply actions

You’re PAYING to go to college – you get the grades you get – whether you show up or not – it’s asinine and juvenile for professors to demand attendance – if you don’t show up you fail – it’s part of being a grown up and that’s part of what colege is about…

by jemagee on Jan 14, 2009 6:57 PM PST up reply actions

yea, believe me i have been in classes where that is the profs view and i have been in the ones where you are treated like your still in High School. My personal view is that i paid for it, so i want to get the most out of it.

by Ben16 on Jan 14, 2009 7:01 PM PST up reply actions

SOme profs just teach out of books – so lectures are useless – i used to go to classes where i got something i couldn’t get from the books – over course i majored in a science

by jemagee on Jan 14, 2009 7:02 PM PST up reply actions

yea well im majoring in history so its kinda a mix of books/lectures that contain the useful info so it makes it hard.

by Ben16 on Jan 14, 2009 7:05 PM PST up reply actions

I wish my professors had demanded attendance

I might still be in college.

Well

Sorry you didn’t get to see the Blazers A, B, or C game. On a night where Portland would have needed its B+ game at minimum (and maybe its A- game) to get a W, they showed up with their D- game. Philly’s a good team. I’m not sweating this one too much (except for Blake’s injury), though it was disappointing Portland played so poorly.

I like the Sixers and I think Brand will figure things out in time to help Philly comfortably make the playoffs in the end. Good luck.

Yeah, Good job coming out there strong tonight Philly and beating my team.

I’ll be hoping we get you next time!

Best wishes for the season (would you mind beating the Jazz and the Nuggets next time you see them?).
