Trade Folks get to Work - Dalembert/Dallas

So in a ESPN chat today - Chad Ford (believe him at your own level of faith) took a question about the sixers.  Said Dalembert is being shopped hard but there's 'no takers' - though he then mentioned that Dallas has some interest.  Now don't go crazy - I mean it's Sam Dalembert - but just curios what you whacky trade machine kids could come up with with a Dalembert trade to Dallas.

Ford also stated that he saw Miller going nowhere, which was disappointing to me.

I just went through some options.

I don’t see any way the numbers match up. And if we did happen to pull off a trade with Dallas, nothing good would come from it.

3-teamer maybe?

I think I may have something

If we include Charlotte, who is reportedly interested in Desagna Diop, a three team deal works on trade machine. Here is who gets who:

DALLAS RECEIVES
Samuel Dalembert (Phi)
Ryan Hollins (Cha)

PHILADELPHIA RECEIVES
Jerry Stackhouse (Dal)
Nazr Mohammed (Cha)
Matt Carroll (Cha)
Dallas 1st rounder

CHARLOTTE RECEIVES
Desagna Diop (Dal)
Antoine Wright (Dal)
Willie Green (Phi)
Philadelphia 2nd rounder

So that may be completely ludicrous. But looking at it, I can’t see anyone benefitting too much from anything or anybody getting jobbed. We get to start Speights while having Nazr back in philly as a nice backup center, rid ourselves of green and dalembert, and get two shooters back in stack and carroll. I don’t know man, it looks decent. Am I high or is this possible?

i likw our end of the deal. we get to start speights and get rid of Willie. Carroll is a career 40% 3pt shooter.

You got a rec my friend

From an outside perspective it looks reasonable. Nice work. I would like to say that Dallas getting a center could hurt the Blazers chances of making the playoffs, but I would still like it to happen for you. I’m beginning to like following the Sixers. Except for last night, that sucked.

I like whatever metric makes a Blazer look better.

well – i don’t think the sixers are getting a first round pick in such a trade – and i’m not sure jerry stackhouse has any use left – but mat carroll can hit 3/s right?

Sign me up.

I like getting Carroll.
I love getting rid of Sam AND Willie.
Stackhouse was probably just included for CAP reasons, as was Mohammed?
By the way, what’s Mohammed’s contracts look like?

And John you might be right about the pick, but it’s going to be a pretty low first if it’s Dallas’ so it’s not out of the question.

Most of the ‘experts’ pick Dallas as the ‘last team out’ in the playoffs this year – so that’s not a low first if it’s Dallas – that’s a lottery pick – Dallas is on the way down really – i think a trade like this reeks of desperation and not accepting the reality of their direction

thats amusing that all 3 members of this trade were involved in my proposed trade. all thats missing is sam and willie. back to the drawing board.

Here’s a trade I Just made that works

Sam

for

Nazr
Felton

Don’t know

According to what i was reading today – they want to get rid of nazr – how does larry ‘remember’ sam?

The nazr contract and the sam contract are the same length but I like Nazr a bit more because he’s comfortable coming off the bench and doesn’t expect to be a starter and get the important minutes unless he’s playing well (ala sam)

But Felton has some actual trade value these days – so it might not be enough for the bobs – might have to add in a pick as well.

The numbers work – and it gets rid of sam :)

how much does nazr make?

i’m still kind of disappointed that we couldn’t land carroll.

Nazr makes about 6.5 and Felton is 4.1 this year

by jemagee on Jan 18, 2009 10:08 AM PST reply actions

the main thing is

we can play/possibly start speights more and we could roll with felton as the starting 2.

Can’t help you there – unless you desperately need center (check out thompson on the kings, been playing a lot recently and gets SF/PF/C eligibility) – his minutes are going to be up in the air night to night with the return of brand…

Desperation
