Poll: What team would you rather have?

I was thinking the other day about where the Sixers are in terms of talent and where the future of the franchise is. So, I wanted to see what other Sixers fans thought of the current team and the future. The saying, "the grass is always greener on the other side" often rings true for me, but with this one, I'm not so sure. I mean Lou, Iggy, Thad and Speights are a pretty sexy quartet. Anyway, off you go.

i voted sixers just because i’m a homer… but i really think the thunder have something going for them.. whenever i would watch sportscenter i would always see their highlights in a tight game with a great team

i actually forgot who i voted for

but the Thunder might get the slight edge just because Durant is the best player on any of those teams.

They also have one of the best rookie point guards this year

would love to have either the grizz or thunder’s squad.. mayo looks like he’s gonna be a stud, and durant’s already there.. plus the biggest thing these teams have that the sixers dont is a team bad enough to get a few more lottery picks in the next couple of years.. the sixers are stuck in that level just above being terrible where we’ll sneak into the playoffs and keep getting those tweener draft picks making it tough to get a franchise player type talent — which is exactly what this franchise needs

Brand was supposed to be that player.

you people are all off

the best player on any of these teams is al jefferson. the dude is a beast, and the exact type of player that you build a championship squad around.

kevin love might be a very good player, but he doesn’t fit between jefferson, brewer, foye, and a PG to be named later.

it’s closer than ppl think, but i give durant the nod

Not really in my mind – Jefferson plays a harder to find position – and has more upside an ‘including your team’ potential than Durant does…if Minnesota hadn’t traded Mayo they’d be an easy choice.

it is closer than most people would think, but durant has a much much higher ceiling than jefferson does

Durant and Jefferson

are both poor defenders. Jefferson at least contributes in an area other than scoring. Of the two, I’d take Jefferson. Of all the teams listed, I’d take the Sixers. By the time the playoffs get here, teams are going to be very afraid of us, and they should be. No one seems to realize it, but we’re seeing the team from the second half of last season right now, and they’re here to stay.

Send GT Green packing.

idk of afraid of use

but if we could keep this role going, get over 500 and make the playoffs this team wouldnt be my first choice fo teams to play, again were not that good of a shooting team, were are looking like we are improving, but, we gotta keep it going for more than a week

Especially not the Celtics or Cavs.

it's not brand who doesn't fit

it’s iguodala. if iggy were to get kneecapped, and the starting lineup would be miller-green-young-brand-dalembert, i think there would be a more pronounced jump in the performance of the team.

this team doesn’t work because iggy’s skillset and athleticism have regressed, and he still can’t make an open jumpshot with any degree of regularity.

I disagree.
this team doesn’t work because iggy’s skillset and athleticism have regressed

Iggy’s been real good as of late and I’ll wait to form my opinion of who doesn’t fit when Brand comes back and DiLeo gets his shot to run the offense with a healthy lineup.

unless you think this team will win a championship this year,

it makes absolutely no sense for iguodala to start. in the future, the team will only go as far as louwill, marreese and thad take it. how much sense does it make for all three to be playing 20 minutes off the bench? and i’m pretty sure that the whole, iggy as a SG thing was proven to be a bad idea in the first 15 games.

unquestionably, the best player on this team is elton brand, but after that, the team will only go as far as the young’ens will take it. iggy is not a cornerstone, he’s a role player; and he’s a role player with a big head, to boot.

I would rather have Thad come off the bench when Brand comes back.

Iggy’s so much better than Thad at this point in their career as far as defense, passing and running the break (which is what this team is all about) are concerned.

Sure, Thad’s jumper is better, but he often disappears in stretches of the games, as opposed to Iggy, who always has his fingerprints on the game.

Long term, I’m still undecided.

Ah the Iguodala bashing continues – he’s the sixers Abreu/BUrrell it seems.

If you don’t think this team will win a championship this year – andre miller probably shouldn’t be on the roster

BTW

I’m using John’s comment as en example. If you read a comment and think it’s good, worth reading, or you just strong agree with it, go ahead and hit the ‘actions’ button and then the ‘rec’ button. It will then highlight the comment, so when people go through and read comments, they’ll be aware of the good ones.

I voted 'Other'...

All thing’s considered, with a few adjustments, I’ll take the San Antonio Spurs. There’s not a mentally tougher, more experienced, and successful team in the league. Sure, they may be old-er than most teams, and not every one of the Three is the best in the league at his position, but there aren’t three other players I’d like to go into battle with in the playoffs besides Tim, Tony and Manu.
