Sixers move to 13-18

One win at a time. This was a nice way to end 2008.

Good win – impressive line from Iguodala – and a nice ‘recovery’ in the second half – they were horrible on the defensive glass in the first half (50%, they shot better than they rebounded) and were able to improve the rebounding while the shooting was much rougher in the second half.

Sad not to see Speights at all in the second half – but funny to hear the clippers announcers…every time the ball was passed to sam they basically asked why :)

Yeah, I didn't get the no Mo Speights thing.

Oh I get it – he’s god awful defensively – he’s a liability dfensively right now – he has to improve

by jemagee on Jan 1, 2009 9:30 AM PST up reply actions   0 recs

haha

would you still want him starting over Dalembert though?

Sure – but in a game you’re trying to win – when Theo is playing like he hasn’t played in a few years, it kind of makes sense – coaches are trying to win – and Theo helped em win last night. The rebounding was much much better in the second half

by jemagee on Jan 1, 2009 9:35 AM PST up reply actions   0 recs

So would you rather have Theo start and Speights come off the bench?

I’m just wondering how fed up people are with Sam.

I’ve been fed up with sam since before he signed his big contract so it’s not like i’m more fed up now -

by jemagee on Jan 1, 2009 9:40 AM PST up reply actions   0 recs

But you have to admit.

He was 1000% times better last year than he’s been this year.

He was ‘adequate’ last year – he played over his head and is back to who he was – just like miller

by jemagee on Jan 1, 2009 9:49 AM PST up reply actions   0 recs

In all fairness.

Miller has looked much like the Miller of last year lately.

Cuz apparently Stefanski has had enough.

Rumor

Not gonna get much for him

Getting rid of him and the 10 mil he is owed is enough for me.

Don’t say that yet – the sixers will get some one just as bad contract wise back – unless it’s a point guard looking to revitalize his career – it won’t be much help – unless the trade is sweeetned

by jemagee on Jan 1, 2009 9:48 AM PST up reply actions   0 recs

I think at the very least.

Stefanski would get an expiring deal.

Expiring deals have value – especially in this day and age – and sams contract runs past 2010…I’m not sure Sam is going to get you much unless you agree to take on another teams ‘bad deal’

by jemagee on Jan 1, 2009 9:59 AM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Would the Pistons consider this?

Trade

I don’t think so, the only player in the trade who really matters is Amir Johonson and supposedly they are very high on him – plus more upside right now than Sam. I don’t think it makes the Pistons better AND if the iverson trade was about clearing cap room – well sams contract is longer than the 3 involved.

I mean I don’t know dumars thinking but can only go on the reports out there and the speculation that sounds viable…this trade doesn’t work on or off the court for what the pistons have planned…

by jemagee on Jan 1, 2009 10:06 AM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah

I think it’d be more realistic if they still planned on contending. I don’t see the whole Amir Johnson thing. I mean, I also thought he was going to be pretty special, but he just hasn’t shown enough and he’s been in the league a while now.

Well he hasn’t been in the league as long as sam and they just signed him to an extension…I think Dumars is on a tight rope and expect to see more movement towards rebuilding than winning probably…i don’t think this is a dela they do

by jemagee on Jan 1, 2009 10:12 AM PST up reply actions   0 recs

I just looked for other potential shooters and

you’re right, there isn’t much. They’d have to take a mediocre contract like 5-6 mill over 3 years along with an expiring deal worth 5-6 mill, but it’s better than nothing.

Don’t forget to look for point guards too :)

It's hard enough to find teams that would be

even somewhat interested in Sam.

Exactly – that’s what i’m saying :) I just can’t see a ‘good’ market for Sam…MAYBE the bulls – because they have no centers – but you want larry hughes back?

by jemagee on Jan 1, 2009 10:19 AM PST up reply actions   0 recs

There's no way we get Gooden right?

And Hughes’ deal expires one year earlier than Dalembert’s. Plus Hughes would probably be an upgrade over Willie Green.

Actually – I’d rather have willie green than larry hughes personally – huges is a bad player on the court and a whiner off the court.

I don’t know what the bulls have planned for their future – and with hinrich not healthy who knows how he works with rose and remember that they have to decide the future with ben gordon after this season – it’s a complicated franchise to deal with.

Hughes is a 2010 contract? He has more value than sam then :)

by jemagee on Jan 1, 2009 10:27 AM PST up reply actions   0 recs

I'd take the deal.

If Hughes got out of hand, he could also be bought out. I’m still holding on to a small sliver of hope that Stefanski pulls off a magical deal. One can only hope.

If you buy him out though you can’t trade the contract :)

I’d rather try and get hinrich personally

He's on the book for four years though.

And I’m not so sure about him as a player either.

He’s not a point guard- but he’s a better SG than willie (or larry) in my opinion…like i said – you’re only chance to get a ‘good’ player is to take on a longer contract for sam

by jemagee on Jan 1, 2009 10:39 AM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Ehhh

I guess, but I’m still in favor of the Hughes deal.
