Sixers at Bulls open thread 12/02/08

Philadelphia 76ers at Chicago Bulls, Dec 2, 2008 5:30 PM PST

Tonight is round 2 vs. Derrick Rose and the Bulls. Stefanski seems pissed and tonight's game could be detrimental for coach Cheeks' future. That's just speculation though.

I haven't seen anything in the Sixers to think they're going to win tonight, but I'm still hopeful.

TV: Comcast SportsNet

Record: 7-10

Prediction: 101-92 Bulls

This is an open thread.

thnx man

Look, our star RB is nowhere near 100%, our backup RB is out, and our 3rd string RB goes down when defenders blow in his general direction.

by Remis on Dec 2, 2008 4:16 PM PST up reply actions

Yeah – that’s just historical – that’s not today – it’s too early for them to be up – usually up on yahooo about 30 minutes before the game

by jemagee on Dec 2, 2008 4:08 PM PST reply actions

i just pulled them off espn. Those were the projected lineups.

by Jordan Sams on Dec 2, 2008 5:14 PM PST reply actions

Well since the other suggestion was willie green – had no desire to see green start

by jemagee on Dec 2, 2008 5:15 PM PST up reply actions

if the day comes again where we have to start green Cheeks should be shot.

by Ben16 on Dec 2, 2008 5:26 PM PST up reply actions

Why – Cheeks did not build this roster

by jemagee on Dec 2, 2008 5:32 PM PST up reply actions

Almost forgot about the game.

I’m too busy looking at Playboy suites at the Palms to stay at.

They’re looking solid.

by Jordan Sams on Dec 2, 2008 5:58 PM PST reply actions

A strong first quarter gives me no confidence any more – getting home i see the sixsers have made 6 turnovers in the 2nd quarter…

by jemagee on Dec 2, 2008 6:24 PM PST reply actions

Yeah

That’s why I didn’t get too excited.

Where will you be when the Sixers hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy? Hopefully Liberty Ballers.

by Jordan Sams on Dec 2, 2008 6:26 PM PST up reply actions

The problem with Lou Williams is simple –
I have a theory on this connected to the sixers idiotic need to ‘force’ him to be a point guard – he has to relearn the game of basketball in a way never asked of him before last year and now he has the pressure of the big contract – the sixers have pretty much broken lou in my opinion – i hope by the time they realize what he is and isn’t he’ll be fixable

by jemagee on Dec 2, 2008 6:27 PM PST reply actions

This team is not fun to watch.

Where will you be when the Sixers hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy? Hopefully Liberty Ballers.

My fantasy stud David Lee ain't too shabby either.

Where will you be when the Sixers hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy? Hopefully Liberty Ballers.

by Jordan Sams on Dec 2, 2008 6:44 PM PST up reply actions

I don’t wish D’antoni was the sixers coach – they don’t have the right assets – and that system won’t win an nba chamiponship – ever – even with lebron

by jemagee on Dec 2, 2008 6:51 PM PST up reply actions

+1

Look, our star RB is nowhere near 100%, our backup RB is out, and our 3rd string RB goes down when defenders blow in his general direction.

by Remis on Dec 2, 2008 8:26 PM PST up reply actions

So far, so good. The typical blown double digit lead seems in order, lets hope that can be it for Mo.

by FuquaManuel on Dec 2, 2008 6:43 PM PST reply actions

As planned.

This team just sucks

by Jordan Sams on Dec 2, 2008 7:22 PM PST up reply actions

I think the people who package him don’t market him as well as they market Lebron, and I understand it’s a part of his job – but the whole t-mobile campaign is just bad – and always has been to me

by jemagee on Dec 2, 2008 7:24 PM PST up reply actions

I agree on the T-mobile thing.

I wouldn't waive him.

by Jordan Sams on Dec 2, 2008 7:34 PM PST up reply actions

I have Marc Gasol, Aldridge and Tyson Chandler – so i’m wavering – right now i’m going to hold onto him – is gordon playing tonight?

by jemagee on Dec 2, 2008 7:35 PM PST up reply actions

Eric Gordon has 3 BS tonight? You’re kidding me

Speights!!!!!

by Jordan Sams on Dec 2, 2008 7:48 PM PST reply actions

I’ve been in the kitchen doing dishes for the past 10 minutes or so – has speights looked as good as i think he has?

by jemagee on Dec 2, 2008 7:50 PM PST reply actions

A nasty putback slam.

Where will you be when the Sixers hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy? Hopefully Liberty Ballers.

by Jordan Sams on Dec 2, 2008 7:51 PM PST up reply actions

But aside from that, some free throws – and an one where he made the free throw? And some good defensive plays?

BTW – with 2:52 left

Speights 18:01
Dalembert 11:54
Theo Ratliff 9:04
Evans – ZERO

Really?

by jemagee on Dec 2, 2008 7:53 PM PST up reply actions

by Jordan Sams on Dec 2, 2008 7:53 PM PST reply actions

If speights finishes the game out i think he’ll have more minutes than Sam and Ratliff COMBINED – it might just be match ups – or maybe Mo is getting his head out of his ass a bit?

by jemagee on Dec 2, 2008 7:55 PM PST up reply actions

Matchups-no.

Cheeks fighting for his job-yes.

Good move.

At the end of the 3rd

Denver 100
Toronto 68

Denver is owning.
