Allen Iverson Traded to Pistons?
Reports are leaking out that the Nuggets and Pistons completed a major trade today. Allen Iverson will go from the Nuggets to the Pistons and Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess will head to the Nuggets.
The pistons were supposedly going to 'shake things up' after another loss in the conference finals last season, but didn't do anything major in the off season. I guess this is the beginning of the shake up.
Personally, on the court, I think the Nuggets got the better end of the deal and this is the beginning of a 'white flag' of sorts in Detroit (that I felt was unnecessary)...getting this deal done early means the Pistons will have a chance to move Iverson (an expiring deal) again at the trade deadline this year.
I personally think this makes the pistons less of a threat in the east, not more.

Interesting.
Where will you be when the Sixers hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy? Hopefully Liberty Ballers.

hasn't the pistons' problem in the past been an inability to score?
and they just added a 20 pt. scorer, while keeping their 2 top scorers.
i wouldn’t dance on their grave just yet.
When they should be sacrifice bunting, they are buying effeminate designer jeans. When they should be fouling off pitches, they are masturbating. Always, they are masturbating.

I’m not sure what the pistons ‘problems’ were – but if you want to look at it in a vaccuum – then yes they added points – but Iverson is less of a passer and not as great a team defender as people think…he over plays lanes to get steals which makes him easy to beat.
I’m not sure I danced on their graves, but they traded a key piece into most of their playoff runs, swapped him for an entirely different type of player they will now have to integrate, and gave up a solid bench player as well.
If you don’t think this makes the pistons a weaker team, that’s your opinion…we’ll see

+1
Billups was the pulse of the pistons and now it looks like Rip will be coming off of the bench … how will he respond to that?

There are some who think this is just the first shoe for the pistons – that dumars is starting rebuilding while guys still have some value…as opposed to waiting until a guys trade value bottoms out…

They should keep him…if they are serious – he’s a solid bench player – do they want reggie evans back?

Just heard McDyess doesn’t want to play for Denver so he might either retire or ask for a contract buyout … if thats the case he’ll probably end up heading back out to Detroit.

if that's the case
fuck him. let him rot on the bench to get paid, or he can retire and end his career like a dog.

I can’t get angry with him for it … he did what he needed to do took the trade to help out his team … how many times in the NBA do you see sign and trades or retired players traded for the good of the team.
