Summon your inner Ed
After the array of off-season moves, I loved Ed Stefanski. Every move he made seemed perfect. I even proclaimed him "The Greatest GM on Planet Earth". Well, the team he assembled is now a mediocre 7-7. I still refuse to believe it's his fault.
Right now I'd like some of you to summon your inner Ed. I believe some sort of move has to be made, nothing drastic, but a smart, efficient move. Pose as Ed and make that move. Use ESPN's Trade Machine if you need to. Don't be afraid. I conjured up a few "stupid" trades in the off-season via Trade Machine, so I promise I won't criticize yours. If you find a logical way to rid the Sixers of Willie Green I'll love you forever. Off you go.

lol how dare you
Where will you be when the Sixers hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy? Hopefully Liberty Ballers.
Seriously though I think things will work out
On paper this is a high quality team, which says two things to me:
1. this team needs to learn how to play well together and 2. that if this team can’t play well together, it might not be all the players. Seriously, I’m not the biggest fan of Cheeks. What about this guy:

I mean he only had what, like a .700 record as a coach? This guy is one of the best coaches on the planet and unemployed.

Yeah, I'm not panicking yet.
I’m not confident in the Sixers’ brass firing Cheeks if they continue to play poorly though.
Either Avery or Jeff Van Gundy. Both would be nice fits.

i’d rather him then cheeks right now… cheeks seems to me like more of a displaced assisstant
Look, our star RB is nowhere near 100%, our backup RB is out, and our 3rd string RB goes down when defenders blow in his general direction.
I'd rather anyone than Cheeks right now.
I have Mo Cheeks, Wade Phillips and Cecil Cooper in my life right now. Why can’t any of my teams have a good coach.
Imagine if Stefanski wouldn’t have stepped in last year and told Cheeks to play the young guys more. Thad would still be getting 10 minutes a game.

THe problem – as it has been for a while was at the point guard position – and while signing brand was good and and i’m glad they kept iguodala – the lack of any real bench depth or improvement at the point guard future always bugged me….maybe he can do something in season but let’s look at it
Free Agency – A – got brand
Igoudala – A – I’m fine with the contract and I think he’s worth it and everyone is over reacting
Draft – A – but i always wanted speights for months – would have liked to see a second pick somehow
Bench Building – F
Fixing the future at Point Guard – F
The coaching Situation – F
That’s 3 as and 3fs – works out to a C I guess

I think it's unfair to give Ed an 'F' in all those categories.
I’m not saying he did a fantastic job with the bench building and the point guard position, but what else could he have done. You can’t build a team from scratch in one year.
And I think the coaching isn’t on him.

The coaching is on him because when a GM comes in it’s a PERFECT opportunity to bring in your own coachs, maybe some assistant at NJ who really impressed him. And firing a coach after a playoff appearance isn’t exactly new to the sixers anyway…he missed a perfect opportunity to can a really good coach.
