Sixers beat the Raptors by six

Man, it's been a rough day. I woke up planning to at least listen to the second half of the Sixers game, with no audio link to be found. Then I had some bad tuna casserole that has destroyed me physically for most of the day. And on top of it all, I endure one of the weirdest football games I've ever witnessed, finishing with a  giant stomach punch to all Cowboy fans. (I'm sure most of you being Eagles fans feel no sympathy, which is  completely fine. I had to get it off my chest.) Sports I tell you, they'll rip your heart out.

Let's look on the bright side though. The Sixers won a meaningless pre-season game in the Air Canada Centre early this morning. Yes! We are now 2-1 in the pre-season and I just finished watching the highlights. Here are my thoughts.

Things I liked:

-Both Thaddeus and Lou played, meaning neither injury was that bad.

-We out-rebounded the Raptors by 14! Very nice.

-We held the Raptors to 37% shooting.

-Iguodala with the defense. 3 blocks and 2 steals.

-Watching the highlights and seeing EB with the offensive rebound, followed by a nasty finish.

-A Lou-Will backward pass to Iggy for the jam, on a fastbreak.

-Speights with 12 points and no tunrovers. He seemed to play a key role in the end of the game. When I was following the play-by-play, he had like five straight dunks. Our boy, NBR says, "Speights finishing was very good."

-Thad with a game-high 17 and three three's. He seems to be much more comfortable on offense.

-Ivey only played four minutes.

-A 2-1 record.

Things I didn't like:

-11 turnovers between Lou and Iggy.

-Shooting 40% from the field.

-My boy, Sammy D seems to be getting lost on both offense and defense this pre-season, at least stats wise.

-Our two Andres shooting 5-23 from the field.

-The games aren't on TV!

-Jermaine O'neal looking like he's gaining a considerable amount of weight. For now, I'm a little less worried about the Raps.

Player of the Game: I have to go with Thad as much as I'd like to give it to Speights.

Pre-season record: 2-1

I had high hopes

Then I watched him in the Summer League and was so discouraged I sort of wrote him off as taking the next step this year, but if training camp pre-season is any indication. We have a stud on our hands.
